FRAMING PROCESS

Framing matters. I treat ads like they're Picassos. That means making sure framing is done correctly, so ads are preserved. But also, designing frames that highlight the "art" so it can be fully-appreciated and enjoyed. 

I have over 6 years of experience framing magazine ads. And I work alongside a professional framer with 30+ years of experience. It may seem straightforward to frame an ad, but believe me when I tell you, there's no shortcuts to framing. To do it right, takes time, a perfectionist mentality, and access to high-quality materials and proper tools. And perhaps most importantly, you need to truly enjoy the whole process, which I do. 

Overseeing a framing project every step of the way is super-fun for me. Starting with finding out what ad someone likes, then working with them to frame it, and revealing it when it's done, is what Ad Patina is all about.

Select an ad and framing option on the website. Add to cart and checkout!

I'll email you within 24 hours to confirm your order and design plan, including mentioning any important details and information I think you should know. I might make suggestions to ensure the finished product turns out amazing!

DESIGN

This is the step where I spend time choosing the perfect border color and frame based on the design plan. *If necessary, I'll email you photos to help make a final decision.

If you chose "Creative Collaboration" I'll definitely be coming up with a few designs to show you.

FRAME GALLERY

DONE

All frames are custom-made. Usually framing projects are finished within 2 weeks. *Occasionally, certain materials are on backorder, which can delay completion.

When your frame is done, I'll email you a photo or two. Then, I'll pack and send! Your frame will arrive safe, super-clean, and ready to hang and enjoy :)

FRAMING OPTIONS

BLACK - MEDIUM BROWN - NATURAL - SILVER

This will be the color of your frame.

I use two black frames that vary slightly in width. I'll make the best decision which one to use, depending on the ad.

If you choose Medium Brown or Silver, I have a few other frames available that are similar, but vary slightly in tone. I might suggest a tweak to your frame choice.

Border will be a shade of white that best compliments tone of paper and colors in ad.

All frames are solid wood with either a painted, veneer, or gesso finish.

CREATIVE COLLABORATION

We're working together to create a unique framing :)

Whether via email, text, or phone call, we'll design a beautiful project using an expansive selection of materials.

A lot of frame options are available. Let me know your ideas or special requests... Like if you want a gold, color, or metal frame.

And color borders! Adding color is a great way to personalize a framing and enhance the look of some ads.

Creative Collaboration is all about being involved in the process to create your vision! And I'll be taking the extra time necessary to consider the best frames and colors to show you.

ALL FRAMES COME WITH:

  • Glass that is Anti-Reflective and offers UV-Protection.

  • Materials are Acid-Free for preservation

  • Wire on back for easy hanging and felt pads affixed to protect wall
