Other Patek Philippe Advertisements
Outside of the ads showcasing some of the aforementioned Patek models, there are a number of ads that highlight the Patek Philippe brand. Perhaps the best is from 1949, with a black and white ad featuring a glimpse of a watchmaker peering at a movement through a loupe. No watch is featured, but Patek’s craftsmanship is clearly front and center.
Beyond the Nautilus, Ellipse, and Grand Complications are other notable models like the Calatrava and smaller cocktail watches, which are an integral part of the brand’s development and success. The brand’s extensive retail network has also been a key part of Patek’s growth and people’s affinity for its heritage. When studying Patek ads, you’ll always come across ads from retailers, from larger well-known stores like WEMPE, Garrard, and Watches of Switzerland to smaller establishments like Raymond C. Yard.
A particularly notable ad features a reference 5015 on the wrist of a woman while a man rests his head - and lips - against her chest. Like art, this scene leaves a lot up for interpretation, which is what makes it so good.
