Audemars Piguet Advertisements
Audemars Piguet is synonymous with bold design and experimentation. Throughout the brand’s history, AP has been pushing boundaries and challenging watchmaking conventions. In the 70s when the Swiss watch industry was heavily affected by the introduction of quartz movements, AP doubled down on highly complicated mechanical movements like the Quantième Perpetual and worked with Gerald Genta to design the Royal Oak, a watch that would ultimately begin and define the luxury sports watch category.
Though the Royal Oak is arguably one of AP’s most quintessential designs, there is much more to the brand than the iconic watch. Through their ads, you can get a more complete picture of the brand’s heritage that includes unique dress watches, the Jules Audemars, and even complicated pocket watches. Just like the brand, AP’s ad creatives often take an artistic approach, using the watch as a focal point but curating an almost editorial-like spread with lifestyle imagery or unique compositions of the watches themselves.
